The development includes renovating a pre-existing historic mansion and adding new accommodation targeted to exceed what is currently available in the surrounding market. The master plan for the development includes the acquisition of surrounding parcels of land to create a rich hotel complex with historically-preserved houses and an expanded hotel operational footprint.

The entire city of Cape May is designated the Cape May Historic District, a National Historic Landmark due to it concentration of Victorian buildings.
The Ewing Assemblage project includes the acquisition of parcels of land in West Cape May. The Ewing building itself includes two parcels of land entitled to build a luxury boutique hotel.
The hotel will be renovating a pre-existing historic mansionand building out a similar structure to house new hotel rooms targeting accommodation quality exceeding the current market.
